I'm Pastor Mike Winger and this is Bible Thinker the program dedicated to thinking

0:05.8

biblically about everything. In our continued study of Jesus in the Old Testament

0:11.0

tonight we're going to be looking at one of the strangest types

0:14.9

or representations I think of Jesus Christ is a bronze serpent, a serpent on a pole that was

0:21.5

identified by Jesus himself as being related to Jesus and his work on the

0:27.2

cross. This raises a lot of questions and we're going to try and answer those questions

1:11.8

intro to this from the words of

1:13.0

Jesus in John 3 verses 14 and 15. He's speaking to Nicodemus here and he says

1:17.4

as Moses lifted up the serpents in the That's where Jesus relates this. So everything I'm about to share with you is based on the fact

1:34.3

that our Lord himself said that this was related to him somehow.

1:38.2

And this is built, of course, on the foundation

1:41.8

that Jesus also said that this was what was meant

1:45.1

by the Old Testament, right? This isn't just him grabbing an example saying, hey here's an analogy
