as we pick up in Matthew, chapter verse 15 and now with today's message

here's Pastor Chuck and the Pharisees took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk

and they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians. Now, they said unto him, Master, we know that thou art true.

You teach the way of God in truth. Neither do you care for any man. That is, you're not a

respecter of men, nor do you regard the person of men. You know, you don't bow

and scrape to the rich and all. I mean, you just, you're no respecter of people's persons.

We know that what you say is truth. You're a man of truth. You're a straight shooter.

Tell us, therefore. what do you think?

Is it lawful to give tribute or pay taxes to Caesar or not?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness.

And he said, why do you tempt me, you hypocrites?

They figured that the question, and it was a very sharp and shrewd question,

if Jesus said, yes, it is lawful to pay tribute to Caesar,

then all of the Jews would have hated him.
