Let's open up to the Living Christ Document, paragraph 5.

Has your life been affected or enriched by scriptures found in the Doctrine and Covenants?

Mine certainly has. And who is the one person that I have to thank for the Doctrine and Covenants?

While Joseph Smith certainly played an absolutely essential role, this book of modern scripture

is made possible entirely by Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus was born on that quiet night in Bethlehem, we get to read and study the words he shared

during the restoration of his gospel and his priested power.

In the fifth paragraph of the Living Christ, we read,

in the modern world,

he and his father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith,

ushering in the long-promised dispensation of the fullness of times.

The Savior's humble birth means that we get to study

this collection of revelations and prophecies and covenants and warnings and doctrine. What is

something powerful you've learned from the doctrine and covenants this year? Jesus Christ is the one

to think. So the takeaway of the day in five
