and what suffragettes read behind bars.

But first, an extraordinary debut that marries the death of a parent

and the quandary of whether to become one,

along with Freud's early struggles with the human brain. All this in a slip of a book

that feels both intimate and impossible to escape. Sight is the first novel from Jessie Greengrass,

a philosophy graduate and winner of the Edge Hill Prize

for her collected stories,
