Summary

Today on the Pretty Intense Podcast we have new friend, and independent journalist, Jessica Reed Kraus. Jessica came to the forefront of pop culture journalism when she famously covered the Jonny Depp/Amber Heard court case. Jessica's coverage of this court case skyrocketed her to an enormous following. This was great timing because Jessica lost her liberal audience when she challenged thoughts on the Covid Vaccine, and how Covid was handled in general. Jessica was excited to pick up this new audience that seemed to be sympathetic with her disillusionment with her once Democratic beliefs. Out of complete dismay for people who would vote for Donald Trump in the November 2016 election, Jessica began interviewing "Conservatives" to try to understand what they were thinking. What she found was far more surprising. Jessica found her beliefs landed closer to the Red side then the Blue. This cost Jessica even more audience, and even some family and friends, but Jessica decided that if she could not be honest with her craft, she no longer would want to do it. What Jessica found was a new audience. More popular then ever, we are excited to have the amazing Jessica Reed Kraus with us on the show today. We hope you enjoy meeting Jessica as much as we did.

And I felt like I was being canceled. So I was like, I'm just going to do these stories how I want. They were not politically correct. I didn't overthink anything. The engagement

was insane. There was a point where my story slides were like 400,000 per story slide. I'd have 100

story slides. We lost friends writing in support of Donald Trump. I'm still losing people because of it.

Politics doesn't care about three things.

Sleep, food, or water. It does care about cocktails, though. Nobody drinks more than DC. They don't

Well, you remember how pissed off we were election night. They didn't even ask us to

come to the party. Do you think she'll run for president? Yes. You know, I don't know when,

but I think by that time she's going to be a superstar. We got the files dropping today.

1:06.2

Yeah, that is a thing. I was like a little concern for a minute. I was like, are you going to cancel because the JFK files are coming out and you're busy reading 80,000 pages?

1:17.2

But I'm like, you know what? They're not coming out until three. So we have time. I was like, I cannot cancel. I have to, you know, it's something every day.

1:24.8

How in the world do you manage 80,000 pages, though? Like when it comes out at

1:28.6

three, what happens? Like, do you just start reading from page one? Do you, I figure someone's got to be

able to put these files into some kind of AI. That's what they were talking about. They were wanting

1:38.6

some sort of AI that would break it down. I mean, I am not going to sit down and read through 80,000. I'm going to just

sift through what's coming in through, you know, there's like professional sleuths that do this.

Well, I mean, like I've like used chat GPT a little bit lately and, you know, you can just ask a
