And wouldn't you know it? Today's story

is about the wise men. I've been waiting for this one. My last name doesn't technically mean

I was part of this story, but I wouldn't mind the little family resemblance, if you know what I

mean. Now go ahead and get your day 24 Jesse Tree card and your Wise Man ornament.

That regal figure reminds us of some very important travelers,

and not just because they brought fancy gifts.

All right now, today's story comes from Matthew 2, 1 to 12. These wise men, or magi, came from way out east.

They were learned men, scholars who'd studied the skies. And one night they saw something

extraordinary, a new star. They knew it meant a king had been born.

So what did they do?

They packed up and followed that star,

mile after mile, until it led them straight to the child.

Jesus.

Let me read a little bit of what happened from Matthew 2.

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped

him.

Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and meh.

Now that tiny theologian is true wisdom, seeking Jesus and worshiping him with all you've got.
