Here are some of today's top stories from the Los Angeles Times.

Six people are dead after two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a bus stop in Jerusalem

Monday morning. According to reporters, the attack happened at a busy intersection during rush hour,

leaving a dozen more people injured. Police say an Israeli soldier and civilians fired back,

killing the attackers on site. A third suspect

was later arrested. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene, calling it part of

a war on, quote, multiple fronts. Meanwhile, Hamas praised the shooting as, quote, a natural response,

though stopped short of claiming responsibility.

Recent UN data shows a surge of violence on both sides since the war began. At least 49 Israelis

have been killed by Palestinians in Israel or the West Bank, while Israeli forces and civilians

have killed nearly 1,000 Palestinians, including both militants

and civilians.

And in other news, the Supreme Court gave the green light for President Trump's mass deportation

plans Monday.

David Savage and Sonia Sharp report that the 6-3 decision allows immigration agents to detain

people they suspect are illegally in the

country based on little more than where they work, the language they speak, or the color of their

skin. The decision wipes out a July restraining order that blocked roving patrols in Southern California.
