The title of Karen Geregian's article in Mass Live today is Gerard Mayo has fallen and he can't get up. And she goes on to talk about, you know, what a season that has been for Gerard Mayo, first year as head coach, the 3-11 record, one thing weighing against Mayo, the lack of progress is another, she writes. The latter is what's most disturbing and worrisome. The Patriots weren't expected to win many games, but there is no sign of it getting any better. Again, this is Reese and Karen, who usually aren't flame throwers that are writing as if they're calling for the head coach's head.
