Hello Sunshine I'm Alexi Lollis and welcome to the State of the Union Podcast.

We look at the beautiful game on and off the field through the lens of red, white and blue-colored glasses.

This is a different type of pod and as I mentioned on our previous pod I am on the road and so in

order to get you something in your feed we thought well let's go talk to

somebody and that somebody happened to be the great germane jones you know him

from the US men's national team and he had an incredibly long career and now he's a

coach for the under 19 team at US soccer and he always has interesting things to say and he's

always been very straightforward and direct and at times controversial I said

all right so let's talk to Germain and see what he is up to.

Have any Germain Jones memories, Mossy?

Well, obviously the goal against Portugal at the 2014 World Cup.

I remember watching that game at a restaurant in Brasilia

with my aunt.

But Germain is interesting.

In this time, we're talking so much

about dual national recruitment and the US able to land guys like Musa and Dest and more recently Baligan

He's somebody who made a really interesting decision many years ago born in Germany

played for Germany and then switched the

legions to the US and ended up playing for the US against

Germany at that 2014 World Cup.

So he could provide some interesting insight
