And today we are starting off with right tackle Jermaine Illuminaur, second year on a two-year,

$14 million contract going into his ninth season in the NFL, 30 years old, 6'4, 330 pounds.

Was originally supposed to be the starting left guard last year,

but now he's at his rightful home of right tackle since Evan Neal was on Pupp beginning of camp last year,

and he lived there until he moved to left tackle for his final six games of the season.

Grump, Illumner was a breath of fresh air last season.

The week 1 O line report was so enjoyable to have a competent player at right tackle

who knew what he was doing.

And it was just,

it was refreshing, right?

We'll talk about Elinor as a player and numbers and stuff and where he lies.

But he is just a refreshing player for a giant's offensive line that has mightily struggled for a long time.

I think that that's putting it mildly.

I would even go so far to say that the move to left tackle out of absolute desperation at the end of the year was not disastrous for him either, even though it's clearly not his solidified position.

Yeah, I thought he did, you know, you didn't hear much from him outside that first game.

And that's something I do want to talk about is like, you know, when Andrew Thomas got injured

last year, I was like, you need to move a little more left tackle. I'm not a fan of shuffling

offensive starters like that. But the one person I wanted to do was if Thomas gets hurt, you need to move a little more left tackle. And when they finally did it, it did pay, it didn't pay off and wins or anything, but it paid off. It was like, okay, we have the blind side much better protected. And again, now that's going to be as good as Andrew Thomas.

But last year, he had four sacks, nine quarterback hits allowed, 29 pressures.

It was 27th of 59 offensive tackles and pass blocking efficiency, 24th and true pass sets.
