Those potent days of 2017, when a man well into his

60s, a left-wing bearded Labour MP, few knew, came from nowhere and astounded the political world.

He was riding a wave, making a wave, that seized imaginations, which those peddlers of iron political

laws, the Westminster soothsayers, said could never have been. Jeremy Corbyn at Glastonbury

there, with the crowds chanting his name, redefining the art of the politically possible,

the parameters inside which politics sits.

And yet, years on, it's almost as if it never had been.

The Labour Left no longer controls the Labour Party.

Jeremy Corbyn, perhaps astoundingly, is no longer even a Labour MP.

That moment, that wave crashing into the sea, perhaps astoundingly, is no longer even a Labour MP.

That moment, that wave crashing into the sea of Brexit, Corbyn's own failings, and of all things, anti-Semitism.

So we thought, with the pieces largely having settled, his leadership retreating firmly into history now,

we should catch up at length with Jeremy Corbyn,

one of the now many ghosts of British politics.
