We're almost at the very end of October. Tomorrow is the last day. Hooray. And hopefully you're having an amazing autumn if you're in the Northern Hemisphere.

And I think it's spring if you're in the Southern Hemisphere. So grateful that you're spending time with me at Pray Every Day.

To those of you who are new to the podcast,

I read the Bible right now. I'm reading through the book of Jeremiah in order, and then I pray for

you according to those verses that I read. It is a privilege to do so, and I'm super grateful that

you're here. We read the World English Bible because it is a free version for me to use and I hope it's a blessing to you.

All right. Today I'm reading Jeremiah 5 verses 16 through 31 and this is what it says.

Their quiver is an open tomb. They are all mighty men. They will eat up your harvest and your bread

which your sons and your daughters should eat. They will eat up your flo and your bread which your sons and your daughters should eat.

They will eat up your flocks and your herds.

They will eat up your vines and your fig trees.

They will beat down on your fortified cities in which you trust with a sword.

But even in those days, says Yahweh, I will not make a full end of you.

It will happen when you say, why has Yahweh our God

done all these things to us? Then you shall say to them, just as you have forsaken me and served

foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

Declare this in the house of Jacob and publish it in Judah saying,

hear this now, foolish people without understanding, who have eyes and don't see, who have

ears and don't hear.

Don't you fear me, says Yahweh.

Won't you tremble at my presence who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by
