John 1 says that in Jesus Christ is life and the life was the light of men and the light

shines in the darkness. That's right. Where there is light, darkness can't hide.

Welcome to Through the Bible with Dr. J. Vernon McGee, I'm Steve Sweats and in our

continuing study through the whole word of God we're studying today in the book of

Jeremiah. Now this book in the middle of the Old Testament tells us about a world that

rejected God and really reads like this morning's headlines.

But even in darkness, the light of Christ shines bright.

To tell us more, here's Greg Harris, through the Bible's president,

who has firsthand experience in witnessing God at work in some of the darkest places in this world.

So Greg, why don't you tell us about what you've seen lately and then how God's using through the Bible?

Well Steve, you and I have both experienced this. We've been into difficult places like Nepal, Bangladesh, India, India used to be a more open, it's closing.

Now, we've been in the Middle East, we've been in Jordan together,

we've been in even places in Africa.

A lot of people don't realize that Islam is rising and becoming very powerful. We were in a place called

the Mecca of Ombale, remember that? So what we want to encourage our listening praying family is keep doing it.

Keep praying for the listeners and the people that do the work.

We were in Uganda a few years ago and they told us the guys had to sneak

during COVID to get to the studio at risk of being literally physically beaten

up. Yeah, for going outside. For going outside and they would sleep in the studio just to keep the programs going so we have lots of
