| 0:25.4 | Welcome to Sissy Larson live Always always so honored to get to speak with you and spend this time with you. |
| 0:29.5 | In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk, that deepen your understanding of God's word and that heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. Really glad you joined us today. We've got a very important program. I do want you to know that today's topic is not for young listening ears. We're talking today about human trafficking in the U.S. It's happening globally. We've covered that plenty of times on the show, but we're going to talk about domestically what's going on. This is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and I've got two |
| 0:58.6 | mighty local heroes in studio to talk about this today. I want you to know we're going to give |
| 1:03.8 | away several copies of my book, Embracing Your Freedom. And this book is several years old, |
| 1:08.6 | but 50% of the royalties goes back into fighting human trafficking. And it's about your freedom because the enemy wants to hold you captive. And so there are people who are living free, who are total captives. And it's about her freedom. In between each chapter, there's a story of somebody who's been a slave. And as you pray for your freedom, you're also going to pray for |
| 1:28.1 | her freedom. It's a pretty meaty read. I always say it's like a boot camp for the soul because |
| 1:32.4 | you're contending for your freedom. And then you're getting a more global perspective, |
| 1:36.2 | understanding that there are millions and millions and millions of slaves today, more than the |
| 1:41.9 | days of the transatlantic slave trade, which is hard to believe, but it's |
| 1:45.4 | true. So if you want another drawing, you can text the word book to 877-933-2484. That's 877-933, 2484. |
| 1:55.3 | Jenny Almquist and Stephanie Page are the two warriors that I'm talking about today. They work |
| 1:59.1 | locally to address the issue of human trafficking domestically. They're here to tell you some stories, to share updated information, |
| 2:05.4 | and to offer hope in the midst of the most base crime against humanity. We're going to get |
| 2:10.9 | them on in just a moment. Quick announcement, we've partnered with one child you've been hearing |
| 2:15.0 | about that. We're hoping and praying to get 1,700 children sponsored this month. Every child is precious to God. And when you sponsor a child, |
| 2:24.0 | you pull them out of that space of being especially vulnerable. And there are all kinds of children |
| 2:28.8 | listed on our website. They're pictures, their hobbies, their hopes, their dreams. You can |
| 2:33.0 | prayerfully scroll through those pictures and ask God, is there one of these children that I should champion? You can find all that information on Myfaithradio.com, but you'll especially hear a lot more about it on our programming tomorrow and the next day. All right, let me tell you about my guests. We'll get them on the show. Jenny Olmquist first learned about the horrors of human trafficking in 2008, |
| 2:51.7 | which led to the birth of fierce freedom. As executive director, Jenny, works to build the |
| 2:55.8 | organization so that awareness and education about the issue can continue to spread. Her main goal is |
| 3:01.4 | to educate and move people to action, to work toward the abolishment of human trafficking and |
