Today's story comes from Jennifer Reinhart.

One night in 2003, Jennifer was asleep in a loft

above her living room. At some point she started sleepwalking and fell about 10 feet into the room below, landing on some furniture.

The fall left her with life-threatening injuries,

including severe damage to her liver.

After three major surgeries and a medically induced coma,

it looked like she'd survive,

but the recovery was brutal on her body and mind.

I was in a tremendous amount of pain as you can imagine.

My body had just really been taken apart and put back together

and had been through an incredible amount of trauma in that past eight days or so since I had had the fall.

One particular night in the hospital still stands out in her memory. She had taken a lot of pain

medicine which triggered a bad nightmare. I was bathed in sweat just absolutely

dripping with sweat and shivering. I was so cold, but shivering made my whole body hurt.
