We were talking in the last segment about how American churches have gotten off.

They've kind of drifted theologically so that they seem to act as though the most important thing is not to offend someone.

Because if that's, I mean, it's one thing to be concerned.

We want to be sensitive to our audiences. We don't want to be indifferent to our audiences. At the

same time, every now and again, you have to say, you may have to say something that will offend

people. So then the question is, what do they do with that offense? Do they take it and just say,

well, I hate you. I don't want to hear what you have to say. Or maybe they'll go and think about it.

Maybe they'll say, you know, I didn't like hearing it, but she had a point. But we seem to shrink

from saying those things. We do. And because everyone is so concerned about offending people anymore,

we forget the biblical principle of speaking truth in love. And the Bible says speak truth in love,

not speak your truth in affirmation. And there is a huge difference between the truth versus my

truth. Because there's this whole standpoint epistemology

or my perspective defines reality is what a lot of even unfortunately pastors share that, you know,

however this applies to you and you take this for what it's worth and you apply it to your life.
