On this program, Debbie Millman talks with Jen Beckman about how she went from being an internet

entrepreneur in the early days of

social media to an art dealer with a gallery and a major website. There are a lot of

people out there who could be buying art who don't because nobody's trying to

sell it to them. I described

the least expensive print as being like the gateway drug of the art world.

The door to Jen Beckman's gallery says,

It's good for you.

It's something that Jen Beckman herself truly believes,

and it's the philosophy that propelled her from a successful internet career into an even

more successful career in the art world.

Her company, Jen Beckman Projects, shows art at the gallery, promotes photography in a competition called Hey Hot Shot,

and sells limited edition low-cost art on a site called 20 by 200.

It's that last project where Beckman has truly extended her philosophy because if art is good for you

Then everyone should be able to afford it

Beckman says it's a way to support artists and to make collecting fun.
