Welcome back, everybody. My name is Shalise Anzola. This is Colst a Consciousness for another

episode of Colty News. And I saw our good friend all worldly post about this.

Thanks for joining us, Jake. Hey, thanks so much for having me. Absolutely. And when I saw this,

I was like, you know what, we got to go live again. We've been going live a lot this week

doing Colty News. And this just seemed like one of those things that was a big deal, but as you put it, also not a big deal. So we're going to get into why that is. And if you guys haven't seen Allworldly, go check it out after this, not yet. And go watch all of his videos. He did a specific video

dedicated to the new blood doctrine, so you can go watch that after, and links are in the

description for that. So Jake, you grew up in Jehovah's Witnesses, and you even had some close

calls with the blood doctrine itself. I think maybe we just start, give people a little bit of your background if they aren't familiar with you in your story. Sure, yeah. The brief bio is just that I was born and raised at Jehovah's Witness. I was in the group until I think I was 28 when I was disfellowship.

And I was eight years old.

So I don't know why I turned into a stuttering old man for a second.

But when I was eight years old, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.

And so I was sick.

I was in the hospital a lot as a Jehovah's Witness kid. And so the blood doctrine was something that was very front of mind. Like I remember my parents sitting down with me and talking about this doctrine. There are publications that the group has put out that were especially popular in the 90s when I was growing up, where it, like on the cover of the

magazine, it would show these, it would show kids that had like given their life for this

doctrine. So I got lucky as a kid in that we were never directly confronted with that,

even during times when I had blood loss.

It didn't end up being a problem until I was an adult.
