But before that, I'd like to talk to you about something that I experienced at the weekend to do with YouTubers. Now, I was watching a video by a young man, I can't remember his name,

and it was a video where he was proposing to his girlfriend. I can't remember exactly why I was watching this video, but the point is he was doing a big YouTuber proposal video, which means it was 21 minutes long when it could have been three minutes long. And I'm not going to lie, this guy, he seemed a bit annoying, but as a video went on, it was quite sweet. He got a lovely ring. He went into a giant

sunflower field to propose

because his now fiancé, his now fiancé, had said that she always wanted to be proposed to in a lovely sunflower field. And he went there and he had it all ready. She arrived and she burst into tears. And he did a really lovely, surprisingly lovely speech. and he proposed. And you know what? I thought, maybe I'm just cynical. Maybe I'm just cold-hearted like Scrooge McDuck. And I don't believe in love anymore. And I don't believe in YouTube anymore. And actually, I've been too hard on this guy, because that was a wonderful proposal. And congratulations to them both. But then he said, I've got another surprise for you, baby, baby girl. He said, I had a chat to my merch people. And at this point, my ears pricked up. And he said, and they've worked up something special for us both. And he pulled out a t-shirt in a plastic bag. This is in the sunflower field. She's just been proposed to. She's over the moon, she can barely contain herself. He's pulling out a t-shirt in a bag and he's got a t-shirt in a plastic bag. This is in the sunflower field. She's just been proposed to. And then he pulls out another t-shirt that says, I saw her say yes, and makes his mate put it on. And then the words, I kid you not, proposal

appears on the screen in giant letters. I nearly screamed out loud. And if you go on his website, you can buy a t-shirt that says, I saw her say yes. And you can buy that merch. of the most beautifully nightmarish youtube things i've ever seen he really he had been going in the

first half but my god it became about the merch and i not going to lie, I might buy one of these shirts

because I'm fascinated by them. Imagine you're walking down the street and you're wearing a t-shirt that says, I saw her say yes. And someone comes up to you and they're like, oh, nice t-shirt. Like, what is this? You got engaged? Oh, no, no, I didn't get engaged. Oh, someone you know got engaged. No, no, I don't know them, but you saw someone on the street get engaged?

No, I watched a video of a YouTuber where they got engaged and then I bought a t-shirt to remember the time I watched that video. Right, so it should really say I watched her say. It should say I watched her say yes, yeah, but, you know, maybe say flows better. So, but I was so touched when I watched

them get engaged in a video that I bought a t-shirt and I'm going to wear it every day. So I will

be buying one of those t-shirts for myself and for all of my family members for Christmas. And

I just want to say to those people, I can't remember their names. Congratulations, I guess. It seemed like

a lovely proposal, but hey, maybe the lesson of today's podcast is
