Germin. You know the job of a journalist like me you're supposed to expose the powerful hold them

accountable for their actions and that's exactly what Jeff Gereman was doing in Las Vegas.

But prosecutors say Jeff Garman doing his job as a journalist

cost him his life.

Here's his story.

Jeff Garman was a true journalist, a man who did intense investigations and reporting, a journalist who held the powerful accountable.

Jeff worked for the Las Vegas Review Journal. His investigations looked at

everyone from law enforcement to corporations to local politicians. One of the

local politicians Jeff wrote about was a Democrat named Robert Tealous.

Tealous was the Clark County Public Administrator.

Jeff published a series of investigative pieces uncovering turmoil in the

administrator's office in claims of bullying, retaliation, and an inappropriate

relationship between Tellis and a staffer.

After these articles were published, Tellealous lost his re-election bid.

Then three months later, Jeff Gereman was stabbed to death.

The murder sent shock waves through his newsroom,

and investigators quickly followed a trail that led to Tealous who was arrested and charged with murder.

Tealous says he's innocent and is now preparing for a contentious trial in Las Vegas.

And obviously the story of Jeff Gereman

includes Robert Tellis, because this is the man

accused of killing him, of murdering him because he was a journalist.
