So I talked about it at the beginning of the show. Sunday afternoon was some disappointing news for Maryland basketball fans.

Obina Ikeesie Jr. was a reclassed top-level 2027 candidate, who's also a top-level 20-26 reclassed candidate, a seven-foot center who Maryland was recruiting for this upcoming season,

battling the likes of Arkansas, BYU, and Louisville, and he chose Louisville.

Even though his dad, Obina Akisie Sr., was a really good player for Gary Williams in the late 90s

as they were going to the tournaments

in sweet 16s year in and year out.

So did you think, you and I kind of exchanged texts last week, but did you think there was, like I was starting to hear that there was a decent chance that he might

pick Maryland, like in the late stages, that he kind of really wanted it.

What did you hear about how it all went down?

Yeah, I think they did make it interesting, or else, you know,

he would have committed to Louisville a little bit earlier.

Maryland made a big late bush.

A lot of people had believed Arkansas was the leader,

or that BYU or Kentucky might be in the

mix. Those were the other finalists. But ultimately, you know, they weren't able to push

past at the finish line, which is obviously a disappointment, probably a little especially
