Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101.

We are going to be playing a clip from a recent sermon by Jeff Durbin there at ApologyS Church,

just this last Sunday, in fact, when he is doing his series on defending the doctrines of grace, i.e. Calvinism, there's a lot of meat on this

particular bone with regard to this particular sermon and a lot of things I could cover. The thing

that I'm going to cover in this program, because I'm trying to break up my programs a little bit smaller bites. I'm getting complaints about the things

being too long and some of the best materials towards the end of a two-hour or three-hour

broadcast. And some people miss those because they don't hang in there that long, and I can

for you to know more information about them. Now, what we're going to get into today is a little bit of Jeff Durbin's rewriting of history. This is a pet peeve of mine when people try to revise history to fit their particular worldview. We see this happen in the political world, quite, political world quite regularly, where people rewrite or revise history to make their worldview seem better

than it is. It's usually, in my estimation, a sign of weakness because it's almost as if I've got

to try to prop up my worldview to make it look better than it actually is, so I have to revise history.

I have to make it say something that it's not, that's just not true.

And as we pointed out on this program quite a few times, even leading historical historians from

the reform tradition have confessed that the earliest church fathers prior to Augustine did teach

free will, libertarian free will, as we, the provisionists, hold to it

with regard to the fact that mankind can either accept or reject the gospel appeal when it comes.

And we have many quotes, and we'll go through some of those throughout this program today,

in order to demonstrate this.
