Man, how we need to learn from Saul and from David.

Two different men.

One filled with God's spirit and the other one coming to the end of his life without the spirit of God.

Why?

Jealousy, covetousness, anger, the powers of pride that are given to us by Satan.

Today we're continuing our study of First Samuel, and we'll get a look at the contrasting

spiritual lives of David and Saul. One man was filled with God's love and empowered by His Holy Spirit,

while the other allowed anger and jealousy to rule his heart and destroy his life.

Roll will teach us how to follow in David's footsteps, submitting to the Lord so that he can work mightily in our lives.

I don't know if you've ever had somebody you care for.

Some people you've known a long time, and then all of a sudden something happens

where now they don't want to be with you or talk to you.

They want you out of their lives.

It's always rereading the chapter from last week, and then this week, you know, it's like the story continues.

Like Saul began to love David, and David began to not only be something in the kingdom of Saul, but then at the same time now he hates him again.

He wants him dead.

And David never did anything to him, but loved Saul.

He played his harp, as Saul would sit and listen to the harp, the music,

because not only had God given him a demon, an angel, a fallen angel, to be in the life of Saul.
