First of all, today I have an extremely exciting announcement to make.

It's something that's been in the works for quite some time.

You see, I've been consistently blown away by your interpretations and responses to the

stories I read on the podcast.

You are all very thoughtful, creative, talented folks.

And I've been thinking about a way to get you more involved with the storytelling on the

show.

So here's what I've got.

Lovar Burton Reads is partnering with FIA Literary Magazine for our first ever Lovar Burton

Reads Writing Contest.

The first place story I will read on the podcast as part of season 10 of Lovar Burton

Reads.

So, if you write speculative fiction, you know, science fiction, fantasy horror stories,

and if you feel moved by the muse, we want to read your work.

We've got some terrific editors on the case to read your submissions along with yours

truly.

Now the submission window doesn't open until August 1st, but I wanted to give you a heads-up

so that you can start thinking about the theme, which is origins and encounters.
