Galatians 5, 13 says, you, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.

Wow, Jesus, hallelujah. Free from what? Free from the law. Free from that old covenant legalism.

I think one of the most difficult balances to keep is to live a holy life and yet not be legalistic.

You might want to write that down and live a holy life without being legalistic.

Because our relationship with God is not about all the things we can't do.

Matter of fact, Christianity is not a do. It doesn't begin with a do. It begins with a done.

Jesus said it is done. It is finished. He fulfilled the law.

So we're free, but don't use your freedom to indulge the flesh, but rather serve one another humbly in love.

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command, love your neighbor as you do yourself.

But if you bite and devour each other, it's talking about strife again.

If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by one another.

Strife actually has the power to kill a church. It has the power to kill a marriage.

It has the power to kill relationships between siblings, between friends.

What I'm talking to you today about is a serious business, keeping strife out of your life and staying in peace.

Peace is powerful, but strife kills and destroys.

And I'm going to harp on it. I want you to be afraid of strife.

I mean, I want you to be so afraid of it that when it starts in your house, you're like, no.

It's worth it to you to humble yourself. It's worth it to you to do whatever you need to do in order to get rid of strife, because it's a dangerous thing.

So I say, walk by the Spirit and you won't gratify the flesh.

Now, let's talk a little bit about gossip and slander and judgmental opinions and criticism.
