Welcome back to J.B. Squared. I'm J.B. Hager and I'm joined by Johann Bernille and we're going to talk stage 13 of the 2023 Tour de France where things are really starting to heat up.

0:13.2

And we'll get Johan's take on what he saw today, both with the overall winner from a breakaway and the head-to-head battle for the G.C.

0:23.0

We'll get into that in just a second.

0:25.9

All right, y'all, let's start with talking about Kwiakoski with the win over that.

0:32.1

But before you go too deep on him and how deep he dug to get get the win that wasn't supposed to be a breakaway

0:40.9

staying away today was it normally not normally not you know we we had this relatively easy

0:48.5

first part of the stage and basically just one one big climb and a a big group of 1920 riders went away.

1:45.1

finally won with almost a minute advantage.

1:49.2

So amazing ride by him, you know, I think we tend to forget what a strong rider he is because

1:59.6

he has been during the Ineos years, the Sky years,

2:05.5

he's been sometimes, most of the time on a grand tour team and was used to be one of the major domestiques.

2:13.9

But, you know, if you look at his, Paul Maris, he was world champion a long time ago.

2:21.8

Actually, he turned professional with us on Radio Shack in 2011.

2:27.8

I remember, you know, he was, he had been world champion already, juniors, and he kind of faded away a little bit and he was on a
