Oh, right, of course, because I should know who that is.

Jason Tatum is averaging 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two games since returning

to the Celtics lineup.

Tim, what is your reaction just seeing him these last couple games? I mean, it really goes back to what I've been saying in the last couple months, which is if Jason Tatum can get back on the court and look anything like the guy he was before he got hurt, the Celtics have to be the favorites in the Eastern Conference playoffs coming up in a few weeks. And the way these first two games went, you have to feel great if you're Jason Tatum, the Boston Celtics, and their fan base. He could not have looked better in this game. You have to be thrilled to see him come back the way. Yeah, I mean, he literally could not have had a better start to these two games. One thing that I like, though, is that he focused on defense and setting guys up and playing within the flow of that Boston offense. Do a quick, a little bit of Celtics preview here, heading into tonight's game at the Spurs. It's time to tee bag or tee it up with Maz brought you by Bigelow. T official hot tea of the Boston Red Sox. Bigelow, grab a mug and tea proudly, Maz. When you heard that cut from ESPN, Tim Bond-Temp's and Ramona Shelbourne, what you think? Well, it's the latest thing that's starting to go up my ass, which is that with Jason Tatum, the first two games, quote-unquote, couldn't have been any better. Really? Marri, do you think they could have been better? They could have been better. Yeah, me too. He doesn't have the same lift, that's for sure.

1:28.5

Couldn't have been any better.

So this is where I start to like, okay, let's not go too far with it. Does he look pretty good given the layoff? Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Couldn't have been any better? Haven't you heard it a lot? Yes. And it's almost a cliche.

1:43.6

It's a combination of lazy, sort of cliche,

1:46.9

driven commentary and, haven't you heard it a lot? Yes. And it's almost a cliche. It's a combination of lazy,

1:45.8

sort of cliche driven commentary and let's face it, the hyperbole that just tends to come with

the Celtics. And even the national people do it. It's crazy. Everyone just gets sucked into the

green goo. Didn't miss a beat. Look like he never left, got picked up right where he left off. Like, don't you hear those phrases over and over and over again? Yes, and it's starting to bug me. I mean, we all watched the game, right? Yes. Didn't it seem like he was, and this isn't a criticism, but obviously knocking off some rust, right? Absolutely, 100%. Did he miss? Tentative, again, and there's times where the lift doesn't look the same, for sure. I mean, the glaringly, obviously, missed a wide open dunk. Correct. Uncontested, like, but it wasn't, didn't he miss his first eight shots or something? Yes, something like that. Yes. You want scoreless the first 22 minutes on Friday night. Yeah. And there were times that he was just sort of a passenger up and down the floor. Yeah. It was obvious. And he didn't have the same explosion or the same lift. Not that anyone expected him to. But why would then someone come out of that game and say, which everyone is, I feel like a lot of people have said, hasn't Mr. Beetz could not have gone any better. You got me. You didn't watch it. They just read the box score. Right where he left off. Yeah, Candyland. Because it's Candyland. And everything is a gumdrop and a freaking rainbow. That's why it's ridiculous. So listen, and again, I am factoring in the injury.

3:12.2

Okay.

3:13.3

He's averaging 17 points a game.

3:15.4

That's what they said on that cut right there on ESPN.

3:18.4

That's like 12 points below what he normally gets.

3:21.7

Okay, the rebounding is a seven and a half. That's like a rebound and a half.

3:26.5

He had like three in the second game. Okay. Right. So lower than he usually gets. The assists are down.

3:32.4

The steals are down. And I know he's, everything's down. He's shooting 29% from three point distance.
