Summary

Jaxson Dart showed out in Ole Miss’ first scrimmage of fall camp practices on Saturday.

Dart finished 16 for 20 for 248 yards and two touchdowns, while his primary competition at quarterback, Luke Altmyer, was 14 for 20 for 124 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Reaction far and wide was fast and furious afterwards, with many (hand raised!) quickly jumping on Dart having seemingly taken the lead in a battle most expect to drag into the 2022 season. Ole Miss opens against Troy September 3.

But Bradley Sowell, a former Ole Miss offensive lineman and eight-year NFL veteran, has heard different, as he explains in an all-new edition of Talk of Champions, powered by Thomas Chandler of Capital Financial Group.

Altmyer had, apparently, been dominating camp. From everything Sowell has heard since the scrimmage, Dart’s impressive performance has simply put him back in the race.

And the week ahead is critical for both players.
