Yesterday we talked about Michael Carter.

Today, his college teammate, Javante Williams, who is already a top 24 running back in drafts.

Let's talk about them right now on FFT and 5.

And it's easy to get excited about Javante Williams, but did you take him 53rd overall ahead of Miles Gaskin, Kareem Hunt, and Mike Davis? That's what that's what's happening in the month of July on NFC. Adam Azer and Jacob gives here. Well, Jacob, would you? Would you take him ahead of Miles Gaskin, Kareem Hunt, and Mike Davis? I would not take him ahead of Gaskin. I actually have Miles Gaskin at running back 17, which probably seems absurd given his ADP. But I think he could definitely take him ahead of the other two guys. I think he has more upside than that. What's the first thing you want us to know about Javante Williams? The first thing is he's one of the best tackle breakers we've seen statistically in a really long time.

So no running back in the past five seasons has broken tackles at a higher rate in a single season than Williams did in 2020.

So in 2019, he ranked 15th out of 285 qualified backs.

Really good.

37% broke a tackle rate.

Really, really good.

In 2020, he broke 55% of tackle attempts against him.

That's just silly.

He averaged 4.6 yards after contact per attempt, which is the ninth highest of any back over the past five seasons.

So he, I mean, Michael Carter, we talked about yesterday, really, really good at breaking

tackles. But no one compares to Giovante Williams in terms of statistically over the past five

years. That's very impressive. Okay. So he's not the fastest guy, right? But what can he still do

with the ball? Right. Yeah. So a lot of people were disappointed.

He ran a 455 40 time. But I think the tackle breaking ability, at least in North Carolina, proved to outweigh any lack of straight line speed when it came to breaking out big plays. And I think that that's something we've seen from a few backs of the NFL level. I don't think speed is necessarily an end-all be-all. So yeah, the only running back who had more rushes of 15 plus yards who had more explosive plays was his teammate Michael Carter. And so that on its own probably raises some eyebrows

that, you know, the two North Carolina guys were the ones that led the nation. Competition might

have had something to do with it. And so I actually went and looked at his splits in games against ranked opponents, and his

efficiency really didn't fall off at all. You know, many might remember that the North Carolina

backfield got kind of bottled up against Notre Dame. But even with that game, William still
