You know, if my mother was still around today, I know that she'd love to keep the conversations

going with some of today's stars and see how they would answer her questions.

And now, Javier Bardem talks to Lucy.

If you were not in the business, what would you like to be doing?

That's a very common question for everybody that I know that works in this business or in this work that we do, acting or directing or writing, music.

I think what we call arts is full of people that are engaged to it

by the passion and the need of expressing themselves somehow.

And if I wasn't doing this, I guess I would be doing something similar to try to,

I don't know, share my view or my sensations, my emotions about what I see, what I think of

the world, which is what I try to do in the roles I play. Of course, those characters are independent,

are away from who I am, are separated from me.

But at the same time, there are mirrors to look upon

that can give us some clues of what we are as species.

So if I wasn't acting, I guess I would be trying to write or music, it's a passion of

mine, but I don't have the talent. So I guess I will be painting, maybe. I like painting.

I'm not good at it, but I like it. More than painting, I enjoy drawing.

And I guess I would try to make a living out of that.

How about that? That is difficult to make a living out of that.

But otherwise, I don't know what else to do.

I've been very lucky, I'm very blessed of having a chance to make a living out of a passion,

which is performing.

If you had a full year, a sabbatical year to do anything you wanted to, what would you do?
