This is a long-awaited reunion! Jason has been a guiding light and inspiration to multitudes of boys and men, and it's an honor to reconnect with him. We talk about the struggles men face in silence, the culture of "grind", intergenerational trauma, and the need for men to develop a comprehensive masculinity. Jason Wilson is the founder and CEO of the Yunion (pronounced union), a non-profit youth development organization in Detroit Michigan. Since 2003, the Yunion has effectively reached more than 15,000 youth and young adults through innovative prevention programming, trauma-informed care, parental engagement, and counseling. In 2008, Mr. Wilson’s heart for fatherless and misguided black boys inspired him to create and direct the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy (CATTA).As an expert in Emotional Stability Training®, Wilson’s leadership has garnered the CATTA numerous acknowledgments and awards for his work teaching males how to introspectively confront and conquer their negative emotions with composure. In 2016, one of the CATTA’s videos went viral with over 80 million views worldwide. As a result, Mr. Wilson was invited to be a guest on the Dr. Oz Show and to present the CATTA at President Obama’s ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ Showcase at the White House. Later that year, NBC’s hit TV show ‘This Is Us’ was so inspired by Wilson’s work, that they featured the CATTA’s initiation ceremony in one of their most viewed and award winning episodes. In 2018, Mr. Wilson signed with actor/producer Laurence Fishburne’s film company Cinema Gypsy to produce a documentary film on Jason’s work with the CATTA. It is scheduled to be released in 2021. Mr. Wilson has over 25 years of martial arts experience, in addition to over 16 years of training and developing young black males. 0:14.9	And joining me today is an old friend and acquaintance of my Jason Wilson.
0:19.2	Jason and I met on a show years ago called the
0:24.0	TD Jake Show. And at that time, Jason had a video that had just started to go viral, maybe a few
0:31.7	months before that. You've probably seen it without even knowing it. You've probably seen Jason
0:35.9	without even knowing it. It was probably seen Jason without even knowing it.
0:46.5	It was this video of this young black boy that was in training in, I think, karate or some form.
0:57.3	And he's trying to break this board as a test to move into his next belt to gain the next belt in the stage. And he hits the board with his non-dominant hand. He can't break it. He starts to cry. He starts to break down. And the teacher,
1:02.6	who happens to be Jason Wilson, who runs the foundation, you know, gets down on a knee and starts
1:07.8	to coach this boy through it and talk to him and, you know, really reaffirm that it's okay that he's having this experience. And that part of his work is to
1:16.7	face this fear of failures, to face this experience he's going through in his fullness.
1:21.3	And that video went really viral. It's been seen like over a hundred million times by now.
1:27.3	But Jason is the founder and CEO of
1:30.0	Union. And he has over 14 years of experience in training and developing young black men.
1:36.5	And under his leadership, Union has effectively reached more than 10,000 youth and young adults in Metro Detroit.
1:45.9	And as an expert in emotional stability training, he has created something called the Cave
1:51.2	of Adullum Transformational Training Academy.
1:54.9	And through that, he has garnered numerous acknowledgments and awards for the work that
