United States Army Jason started an organization to make an issue of veterans

And he wants to bring the issue of better hearing

protection for soldiers to the forefront.

He served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And we're going to talk to him a little bit about all of that.

Yeah, thanks for having me, Steve. Yeah, thank you for coming and this is something as I talk to you offline. This is something as I talk to you offline. This is I suffer from both hearing loss and tonight. So this is something near and near to all of our hearts. I believe that I think

you mentioned to me in one of the emails that we got back and forth that hearing loss and

Tinnitus are two of the top disability claims at the right now.

Yeah, so tonight is the number one with approximately 1.7 million claiming

tonightus. So and then hearing loss is a short is a close second. I think it's

around 1.3 million and those are the top two claims of people of soldiers in or veterans in the system claiming you know

both tonightus and hearing loss course Of course, Tinnitus is a result of the hearing loss.

Sure, sure. But let's, before we get into that a little bit more, let's talk about your own experiences. You served in Iraq and

Afghanistan. What unit were you in in the Army?

So I served as the, I was a civil affairs officer, served Brigade S9 in Baghdad under General Phil.

That was in 2006, 2007 and was with the Blackjack Brigade in Camp Prosperity in the Green Zone.

We did our patrols out of there.

And so I was there in April when General Petraeus said we were halfway point in General Petraeus kicked everybody in the gut and said hey we're going to extend for three months.
