Today on the show, we revisit an interview from November of 2017 with Jared Payton.

He is the son of the late, great Walter Payton.

Walter Payton, of course, played in the NFL for many years with the Chicago Bears

and then was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in July of 1993 and was actually

introduced into the Pro Football Hall of Fame by Jarrett, by his son, who was just 12 years old

when he took the podium and introduced his dad into the pro football

Hall of Fame. On this episode of the podcast, this snippet that we play for you, I wanted to

ask Jarrett about his dad's faith in the last few months of his life. Walter Payton died of

I just want to talk about your dad's faith a little bit,

because I remember reading in the book that Don Yeager wrote about your dad

in the last few months leading up to his death.

And I just want to ask you if you could share with us sort of some of the conversations

and some of the things you saw in your dad's life with regards to his faith over the last few months of his life.

Well, I mean, I think if you even go back a little bit further during his playing career and a little bit of life after football, it wasn't, church and God was not really a big part of his life.
