I want to fight for a living when did that start because like dude you've been in the UFC now six years like you're well known in UFC when it was the first like ah this is |
| 1:27.3 | what I want to do? |
| 1:28.4 | Man, I was just on the phone with my friend Saul who was a childhood friend and I remember the first time I watched him at his house with his older brothers and I remember we were like huge WF fans, WCW fans, and his brother was like, you gotta watch this, we're watching it. |
| 1:46.3 | And I remember like thinking, you know, we always used to argue about how wrestling was real, you know? No. And then I saw a UFC and I was like, this has to be fake. Like, how could this be real on TV, you know? I was just couldn't like grasp it. But I remember thinking as a kid like holy shit, like I wanna do that. Obviously that wasn't like when I knew I was gonna be a fighter, but it was the first time where I really felt like, man that looks like something I wanna do. And then I was like, I got older. College, you went to college? No, I didn't go to college. College is overrated in that time. I spent a bunch of money for nothing. But the ultimate fighter was getting really popular. I was in high school, far scruffing, Stefan Bonner. They had the ultimate fighter season with them. And it was a huge hit. And I was watching it not stop. Ultimate Fighter and the UFC in general just I couldn't stop watching it. Frank Jagger was making his debut that year. He was legend. Tom is river, right? Tom is river. I remember watching him fight Tyson Griffin in his debut, UFC debut and I was like, if that guy can do it, I can do it. You know, like a little guy from New Jersey. I remember Ty's girlfriend was a monster dude. Oh yeah. She was huge compared to Frank. Anyone in the fight and I was like, dude, this is fucking awesome. And I boxed and wrestled as a kid. So I had a knack for it. I was already. Well, I wrestled in junior high. Okay, And on Island, I looked in Roslyn and that's all and then I moved to Queens when I was like 16 or 15 to a story of Queens. So when I graduated high school, I was going down the wrong road already. But I found an M. gym and I was watching that you have |
| 3:46.0 | seen like crazy and I was like, I wanted to do it. |
| 3:48.7 | I was drinking a lot of beer at the time and I got fat. So I remember it was my senior year and I was like, I gotta do something to get. The motivation to work out. Yeah, I need to work out. But I knew I didn't want to just go to the gym and lift the weights. I wanted to like boxer or do jitsu to get fit. |
| 4:05.9 | And I walked in the gym and I fell in love right away. |
| 4:08.1 | Had my first jitsu to get fit and I walked in the gym and I fell in love right away I had my first jitsu class that next Monday And how old do you at the time? I was 17 oh wow y'all I threw up everywhere. I remember cuz I was exhausted And I fell in love and then four months later. I had my first amateur fight. To have in that quick. |
