the Lions versus the Lions of years past. This offense has always been able to look like

the best in football when they got hot. Jared Gough has had games where he looks absolutely

lights out before. Admittedly, haven't seen him catch a touchdown pass before. Maybe we learned that in terms of what he can do.

But the thing the Wyands lacked last year

was a defense that could close out games when it mattered.
