2011 Japan was hit by a 9.1 earthquake. That was the biggest, biggest earthquake ever in Japan.

It resulted in a tsunami, 30-foot waves washed over parts of the country, including Fukushima,

where there was a power plant in the prefecture there. That power plant suffered three reactor meltdowns, explosions.

There's an incredible video of this. And that's been an ongoing environmental disaster since 2011.

It was incredible. It was Chernobyl.

It's probably back in 2011. I mean, it's a major time.

Time goes by so quick.

It does.

Yeah, so it's coming back around in the news again as it always has over the last years.

And what that looks like is Japan is planning, announced a plan to dump the wastewater

from the Rect Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean.

So the plants operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company, TEPCO,

they said by next summer they're going to run out of room for the tanks they're building

to store what they consider about 1.2 million tons of this wastewater.

And this is contaminated wastewater.

So obviously this isn't going to go over big for a lot of people around the globe.

So it's estimated a German marine research institute estimated that it's going to take about 57 days

for this stuff to get throughout the Pacific Ocean. So it's going to move pretty quick.

Japan's got another problem on its hands though. The Olympics is starting in July,

end of July. And this topic is clouding the Olympic games and the start of the Olympic Games.

So it's a cascade of calamities. That's what the headlines are saying.
