Tokyo, I imagine, with a very straight face,

looked at the Chinese embassy and goes what we have no right to metal

meddling would describe pretty much the conduct of the PLA Navy let me review for people who might not have heard the details.

There was not only a ramming incident, there was theft,

there was brutality, there was momentary imprisonment, there was intimidation by craft launched by the Chinese

PLA Navy Coast Guard, there were threats for worse ahead. There was a deliberate attempt to disrupt

a military activity at the Sierra Madre in the Second Thomas Shoals. Beyond that meddling, it was an attack, it was an act of war by the Chinese

purposefully. How is Tokyo responding not only to this present insult, but also to the incident in general.

Good morning, John. Tokyo has been pretty muted about this. They have, they have in

fact released statements

and some of the political parties have made statements, but they're clearly waiting for the United States to

extricate itself from a situation that's been some 20 30 years in the making. China has

without interference from Western powers built up 25 military facilities throughout the South China Sea, totaling about five square miles,

about 3,200 acres.

You know, a good size chunk of property if you scattered around and they're very densely packed

with military facilities including runways up to 2,700 meters long, 3,000 meters long.
