Hi friends, I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four

books of the New Testament and the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories

of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the

miracles. We will read three chapters a day and finish in 30 days. So each month we will

read all four books. Go ahead and subscribe today if you haven't. And join us as we read

the Gospels together. This month we are starting with the book of John. For many of us,

this is our first time through the Gospels. And I think this book is a great place to begin our

journey together. As January continues, we'll read Luke next and then Matthew and then Mark.

Each month will be a little different, but we want to start this year with the fresh

lens to these stories. We'll use multiple translations throughout the year, but I wanted to start

off reading from the Bible I've had for years. The one I read from most mornings. It's a

quest study Bible in IV 84 translation. I will read three chapters to you today. You can listen or

read along in your own Bible. And then I will pray. And that's it. So today is January 6, day six.

And I will be reading John chapter 16 through 18. And the translation I'll be reading from this

month is in IV 84. Chapter 16. All this I have told you so that you will not go astray.

They will put you out of the synagogue. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will

think he is offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the father

or me. I have told you this so that when the time comes, you will remember that I warned you.

I did not tell you this at first because I was with you, the work of the Holy Spirit.

Now I'm going to him who sent me yet none of you asked me where are you going

because I have said these things. You are filled with grief.

But I tell you the truth. It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the counselor
