0:04.4	got a new information about a separate Justice Department investigation and how it ties
0:08.7	in with some of the testimony that we've heard from Republican officials about the effort
0:12.8	to overturn the election.
0:14.3	Specifically, that scheme to install fake electors.
0:17.2	We want to start with that tonight on Capitol Hill.
0:19.2	We'll see on Congressional correspondent Ryan Nobles.
0:21.6	So what have you learned about this Justice Department coordination with the January 6th
0:25.9	Committee?
0:26.9	Well, we know that it's starting to happen, Anderson, and this was, of course, a big
0:30.3	roadblock to the Department of Justice's investigation as it expanded into areas beyond
0:36.0	just the rioters that breached the Capitol on that day and started looking into more
0:41.0	of the efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
0:43.8	And they were very interested in many of the interviews that the January 6th Committee
0:47.4	had already conducted, but the Committee was reluctant to hand over those transcribed
0:52.8	interviews to the Department of Justice because they considered it their work and their
0:56.7	property, and they wanted to be able to make sure that they had it in their possession
1:00.8	as their investigation moved forward.
1:02.6	And this became somewhat of a standoff between DOJ and the January 6th Committee.
1:07.8	But now they're starting to find areas of common ground.
1:11.3	And the Select Committee Chairman Benny Thompson telling us today that the first batch of information
1:15.6	that they're going to hand over to the Department of Justice is the information that they've
