The tension between Brady and Belichick and Robert Kraft is in the middle of this. It involves Alex Guerrero. It involves the trading of Jimmy Garoppolo. Bert Breersen's studio, and we'll take your calls, but first, what? Who would leak this, Bert? That's the one thing in all this. Who benefits from leaking this story? I hate the word leak, because it insinuates that somebody's like calling Seth and just giving him the whole story. I don't think that that's the way that it happened.

done stories like this in the past and a lot of times the way it happens is you just, there are

people that you've built relationships with that you have ongoing conversations with.

And I'll give you a good example.

Like last year, I wrote a story in the Rams that didn't paint Jeff Fisher in a very favorable light.

And four days later, Jeff Fisher got fired.

You got Jeff Fisher fired?

He had such a pristine record. I would tell you this.

Like those conversations on what was going on in the L.A. Rams building had been going on for like six months.

Like I'd had those conversations for a long, long time with people that I trusted.

And, you know, I think a lot of times what ends up happening in these situations is one thing leads to another, leads to another, and there are conversations about how bad things might be happening somewhere. And the NFL is like a middle school, like cafeteria. But the thing is, you're gossiping. Here's what happens, okay? What happens is that you have these ongoing conversations with people, so you have all this background knowledge. And then things happen where the story becomes an impact story. For me, it was, the Rams went on this losing streak. And now all of a sudden, it went, at the start of the season, they were three and one. So, like, I'm not going to write it then, you know, but like they started losing games. And it's like, okay, this really seems like it's having an impact on what's going on inside that building. sure. And, you know, for Seth, like, you look at it and you see, okay, like at the beginning of the year, I'm sure he knew some of this stuff, and now all of a sudden Garoppolo is traded. And now all of a sudden, Alex Guerrero's banned from the building. And just, like, when you're in those situations, you have normal conversation with people where you learn stuff.

And then that stuff kind of over time can kind of morph into a story because there are things that happen that make it an impact story.

And in this case, if you look at the basis of what Seth did, there's certainly things that have happened that we've known about over the last two months that have turned this

into a story where if you're Seth you're saying okay I'm going to start digging on this I'm

going to start making more and now that this is out guys like turd and badard and leaking yeah I mean

I hate that I hate the freaking term leak because it just it insinuates the reporter didn't do the

work and it's so clear here that someone that's so clear here that Seth did a lot of work. Brian, go ahead. Hey, man. Why do we keep ripping up Alex Guerrero? There's been hundreds of players going through the Patriot camp for the last 17 years, right? Not one of them. Here's one. Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian, calm down. Here's why. Here's why, okay?

Because I know he's going to work himself up about Alex Guerrero. The reason why is because Guerrero's been banned from the building by the Patriots. That's why it's a big deal. It wouldn't be a big deal if this was just an annoyance in the building. He has been, he's not on the flights anymore. He was before. He's not on the sideline anymore.

He was before.

He's not working with the players in the facility.
