Hi friends I am Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth, the friendships, the

parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Here on Let's read the

Gospel is that's what we do. We read all four of those books. Last year we read all

four every month, three chapters a day, so you can scroll back and

listen to that. But this year, for January, February, and March, we are reading one chapter

a day. So that's how it's going to work today. I'm going to read you one chapter. You can

listen or read along in your own Bible and then I'll mention a verse or idea that stood out

to me and then I'll pray and that's it. We would love to hear what's standing out to

Today's January 17th, and I'll be reading John 17

from the new international version.

John 17 after Jesus said this he looked toward heaven and prayed.

Father the hour has come glor Glorify your son that your son may glorify you.

For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those

you have given him. Now this is eternal life that they know you, the only true

God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work

you gave me to do and now Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory

I had with you before the world began. I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the
