I am sticking around as the chief Playbook correspondent.

And Jack Blanchard all the way from London is joining the team as the managing editor and author of Playbook.

Jack, welcome. Hello. Hello. The British are coming.

I know. I know you guys. I know. This isn't exactly how it works over in America. We like, we like this British one. We like him.

The only problem is he likes beans on toast. So I am working to get that out of his diet.

It's a very important part of the English breakfast. You've got to understand that's how we start our day. That's what makes us a great nation, Eugene. You're in America now, baby. So, Jack, tell the people a little bit about yourself, because you've been around political for a very long time. But intro yourself to the folks that are listening to the podcast. Yeah, so I'm a veteran of

Politico really. I've been at the company seven and a half years, but based in the UK. I was one of

the first hires in the UK. I launched the London version of Playbook for Politico back in 2017,

and I was the, in fact, the only author of that for the first years of that email.

I since moved on and I'm latterly been the UK editor running the whole newsroom in the UK

for the last few years.

But I am also a passionate student of American politics.

I actually studied the history of the Americas at university way, way, way back.

And it's been a lifelong dream for me to come over here and actually report on the biggest show in town, which is DC politics. Yeah, the biggest show on the planet for at least the next four years. You bet. Every day of the next four years, this is the biggest story. And so for me, this is so exciting to get the chance to come over here. Thank you for having me. Thank you, having me in your city and your country. Please be kind. It's true. We'll be kind. We're excited. I'm excited for this new air. I mean, you kind of taken the town by storm. That's the idea. I mean, I loved writing playbook back in London. It's the best job I've ever had. I really

loved the newsletter. I love the rhythm of it. I love having an audience. I don't want to sleep. I don't want to sleep. No way. Like, I've got two young kids. I don't sleep anyway. So it's fine. It's fine. You have a good excuse. Exactly. So for me, yeah, this is, this is really exciting. this is what I'm really passionate about, is writing and about writing a newsletter that gets the whole town talking.
