and officially advises her on economic policy.

Then with a complete blackout on news emerging from Iran, as anti-government demonstrations

grow and repression intensifies, we'll look into a clash between

the other Gulf regional powers, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Joining us is Dr. Anel Shilin, a research fellow

at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Staircraft, a fellow at Rice University's Baker Institute for

Public Policy, and an expert on religious and political authority in the Middle Eastern North Africa.

She has worked as a journalist in Egypt and Yemen, and she served as a foreign affairs officer at the Office of Near Eastern Affairs in the Department of State's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor,

until resigning over then-President Biden's policy on the war in Gaza.
