Hello, and happy Monday. It's week two of 2021. You made it. And this is your Politico Playbuck

audio briefing. It's President Trump's last full week in office. And the question on everyone's

minds after last week's Trump-field riots at the nation's capital

is will he finish his term? Today's playbook guest author is CBS News White House correspondent

Ouija Jang. She has the state of play on three ways Trump could leave the White House early,

in order of likelihood. Number one is impeachment, which you might recall is also how we kicked off last

year. Last night, Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave an ultimatum to Vice President Mike Pence, saying,

look, either you and your friends in the cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment and kick Trump out now,

or will hustle to impeach him this week for a historic second time. House Majority

Webb Jim Clyburn said articles of impeachment could be drafted as soon as today, but they

might not make it to the House floor until Tuesday or Wednesday. He also suggested on CNN this

week that House members could hit pause before sending those articles to the Senate, to avoid starting

President-elect Joe Biden's term on some awkward footing.

Let's give President-elect Biden the 100 days he needs to get this agenda off and running,

and maybe we'll send the articles sometimes after that.

Some moderate Dems are also worried impeachment would backfire on Biden, incite more violence, and make Trump into a martyr for the right.

They're suggesting censuring Trump instead, a move that could draw more bipartisan support than impeachment.

But Democratic leaders broadly agree it wouldn't be strong enough

punishment for Trump's role in encouraging his supporters to march to the Capitol last week and, quote,

be strong. Also complicating impeachment, some MAGA-aligned House Republicans are already whispering

about revenge by potentially using House procedures to instigate an impeachment of Biden.
