And I'm Anna Palmer. Breaking overnight, a federal judge in San Francisco has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's decision to end the DACA program.

This only heightens the need for Washington to act in a permanent way to change immigration law legislatively.

DACA supporters believe this is only a temporary legal victory. They say the administration is within

their rights to end the program and are still seeking an immediate legislative fix.

This comes as Trump's negotiation on immigration happened on camera yesterday. President Trump's freewheeling

55-minute back and forth with congressional Republicans and Democrats was pretty great TV.

There's a lot to unpack here. In some ways, Trump did himself a favor. He brushed aside talk

that he's a quack who's losing mental acuity. But in other ways, he also did himself a disservice.

He just dropped a heap

of issues on Congress's plate. It's almost like he chose to back the exact set of proposals that

continue to tear his party apart, earmarks, budget-busting spending deal, and an immigration plan that

opponents are calling amnesty. A few thoughts. The dynamics here haven't really changed. Before the meeting,

Congress was going to have to figure out the immigration and government funding deal.

they were still split on immigration. This

meaning was, by no means, a massive dynamic shift. And the work isn't done. House Majority

Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senator Dick Durbin, Senate Majority Whip John Corny Corny, and House Minority

Whip, Steny Hoyer, will meet today with administration officials to figure out what

they might be able to get done. One dynamic to watch is Trump versus House conservatives. Trump's
