Summary

Personally, I never vibed with January 1 as a new year…

I felt slightly slothy in comparison to everyone else starting Q1 objectives and “New Year New You” launches, while I was still in my fun bun reviewing my previous year and NOT hitting reply on anything. (Does that sound familiar for you too?)

In Episode 150 of With Love, Danielle we’ll dive into this and I’ll show you why and how to get in sync with natural rhythms and planetary cycles.

Because JANUARY 1 IS *NOT* THE NEW YEAR… not actually. Not seasonally, not energetically, not for thousands of years according to the LUNAR NEW YEAR.

Keep your calendar pointed in the direction you want to go.

With Love,
Danielle

Hello, loves. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. I relate more to New Year starting in February,

0:11.3

more in sync with the Lunar New Year. Do you know about the Lunar New Year? It's often known as

0:16.4

Chinese New Year. Where I live in Vancouver, Chinese New Year is a huge thing and the celebrations really get underway.

0:24.7

For me, January is more about incubating and getting clear.

0:30.0

So the year timeframe is filled with occasions to celebrate and to honor and to think, to really think about what's

0:40.0

transpired, what's gone down, and then with that clarity to then make changes and to plant

0:46.7

some seeds, knowing more you plant more fertile seeds.

0:51.5

The one-year cycle is filled with lots of cultural and seasonal transition points,

0:57.5

times when we are culturally encouraged to acknowledge what's past, what's gone down, what we've

1:06.3

learned, where everything that's gone before has brought us. And from there, from there, from that clarity,

1:14.3

that rootedness, then we look ahead. Then we make plans. This is actually counterculture, by the way,

1:20.7

to really take this pause. We can see that so much of where we are today is a result of how we've been living. Let me just say

1:31.5

that again. So much of where we are today, of who we are today is the result of how we've been

1:37.3

living, the good way that we've been living, the healthy way, the stressful, the joyful,

1:43.0

the not so conscious, and all of the blessings, all of

1:46.6

our good fortune, all that accumulation. And we're here to take stock of that. And again, that's a

1:52.7

big deal. So let's start with talking about the Lunar New Year. So let me explain why January is not

2:00.3

actually the New Year. So if you research what is a year,

2:06.4

let's just start with what is a year. We all can't agree on what is a year. It's like it's a mess.

2:14.0

A year is 300 some odd days. A year is 12 months.

2:18.6

A year is a solar cycle.

2:20.3

So I'm going to lay down the definition of a year and everything is based on that.
