Should the ban take effect, the social media application will no longer be available in Apple or Android stores—though, users who already have the app on their phone will be able to access the platform. Interestingly, without updates the app’s performance and security features will degrade over time—making it especially susceptible to hacks. Isn’t the ban supposed to prevent a nefarious actor from gaining access to sensitive personal data?
