Hello and welcome to Storytime for grownups.

I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

0:09.5

Each episode, I'll read one chapter from the book,

0:12.8

pausing from time to time to give brief explanations so it's easier to follow along.

0:17.7

It's like an audiobook with built-in notes.

0:23.7

So brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair,

0:45.1

and settle in. It's story time. Hello and welcome back to Storytime for grownups.

0:47.3

I'm always so happy to be here with you.

I hope that you are well, wherever you are and whatever you're doing.

It is occurring to me that the actual seasons in the world are kind of mirroring the seasons in the book. When we started reading the book, it was winter,

1:02.1

and it was winter in the book as well. And when Jane came to Thornfield, it was winter and cold.

1:09.2

And now, in the book, spring is coming. And it is rainy

1:14.4

and, you know, sort of sometimes cold, sometimes warm, just the way that it is in spring. And I don't

1:19.5

know about where you are. I know that there are people who listen from Australia, where this is

1:23.6

backwards. And first of all, that's amazing. Hello, Australia, and other places where

1:27.9

the weather is not the same as it is where I am. But where I am, that's exactly what's happening.

1:33.1

It's sometimes it's really warm, sometimes it's really cold, sometimes it's rainy, sometimes it's

1:37.5

sunny. So I at least am feeling like the seasons in Jane Eyre are perfectly timed with the seasons that are happening here. So that's

1:45.9

kind of cool and just something that I was noticing. I hope that you're doing well wherever you

1:50.9

are and be it Australia or otherwise. And thank you as always for all of your notes, your

1:58.0

emails, your posts on X, thank you for your ratings and your reviews.

2:02.9

Thank you for following and subscribing and doing all of those amazing things.
