Her family in Fullerton are overjoyed, but confused by the general's inexplicable rudeness,

dismissing it as an oddity. Catherine struggles to write a letter to Eleanor,

and reflects on her profound emotional growth, also noticing how her deepening feelings for Henry

eclipse all other concerns. Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves
