Tonight, I'll be reading Part 17, Chapter 29 of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen.

In the previous chapters, Catherine receives a deceitful letter from Isabella,

thinly veiling her duplicitous nature and in constant behaviour with Captain Tilney, which disgusts her.

Later on, the general takes her week's absence, relaxing the atmosphere at Northanger,

and bringing Catherine some peace and enjoyment. But he unexpectedly returns early, ordering her

abrupt and unshaperoned departure. Catherine is left distressed and confused by his sudden and

inexplicable harshness as she rides in her carriage home. Now that we're caught up with the

story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep. Start by taking

a deep, relaxing breath and settle your body in whatever way feels most comfortable.
